Ralph Barton, Nickolas Muray |
Bruce Kellner écrit : That afternoon Ralph called on his old friend Nickolas Muray, to be photographed. The he returned to his apartment earlier than usual. […] He seemed to her more depressed than ever; ordinarily he shook the spell with some sourly funny observations about the state of the world. That evening the mood did not pass; he paced the apartment, murmuring to himself.
Bruce Kellner écrit : Although they were not yet married, the December issue of Vanity Fair featured a full-page Muray photograph of “Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Barton, American Artists, One of the Drawn, One of the Spoken Line… a distinguished couple in the artistic circles of New York.” Ralph sits with his body in profile, staring bemused ; Carlotta stands next to him, eye downcast, her called the beautiful people, had the appellation existed.
